The blogging workshop at Science Online London (2011) http://www.scienceonlinelondon.org/ is a salutary reminder that online demo’s depend heavily on the underlying technology. We’ve already had intermittent problems with the British Library’s wireless network, and now the mass logins to WordPress appear to have brought it to its knees. We end up working in groups or using other blog accounts – not quite the group experience planned.
So there’s good advice from that seasoned blogger Peter Murray-Rust http://blogs.ch.cam.ac.uk/pmr/: compose in Word or similar, and upload to the blog site when you’re ready – avoids problems with intermittent/disappearing links. Point taken!
